Thomas is an effervescent student who adapted to the Sixth Form with verve and enthusiasm. He has always struck us as someone who would get on in life because of his willingness to embrace experience and the fact that he is so personable in doing so too. His skills in technology in all its guises are remarkable as is the willingness with which he is prepared to share his time for others. Whilst at school, and then in Sixth Form, Thomas has contributed a significant amount to life of the school, selflessly giving his time to mentor younger students in tech crew, completing charitable work including raising donations for Ukraine in a 24 hour turn around and being a voice for his peers on the School Parliament and then as a Sixth Form Ambassador. Throughout his time at school, he has approached his work in an organised and committed manner; his determination to realise his potential means that he is highly regarded by his teachers.

In his BTEC Engineering Extended Certificate, Thomas has an incredibly motivated and dedicated approach, with a particular interest in CAD and 3D printing. He always produces quality and in-depth solutions to engineering design problems. He performs well in the theory units with a particular strength in Maths and Physics. Thomas has shown a real enthusiasm for Technical drawing, the precision and accuracy needed inspires him to draw with mathematical accuracy. Thomas clearly has a real interest and passion for problem solving, always applying 100% effort and confidently sharing his ideas. Thomas has studied various units including Engineering Principles, Delivery of Engineering Processes Safely as a Team, Engineering Product Design and Manufacture and Computer Aided Design in Engineering.

An enthusiastic student of Digital Media, Thomas has enjoyed this course. He is a hard-working and dedicated individual who is confident when talking through his understanding with others. He is always happy answering questions when further developing his knowledge. He has performed very well in the units that he has undertaken, completing both coursework and exam content to a high standard. He has created detailed reports, participated in recorded presentations, and produced an excellent online portfolio during the course, ensuring that work follows the requirements. He has continued to develop his vast array of skills centred around research and creativity, developing an understanding as to the processes required to turn an idea into a more substantial and well-rounded piece of work that he can be proud of. Thomas has worked hard to stay focussed on the examination and coursework aspects of the course, ensuring that he puts maximum effort into both parts and achieving high grades in assessments.

 

Regarding Business, Thomas is a very confident and hardworking student who has displayed a real interest in his studies. He consistently meets deadlines and has shown excellent organisation skills in completing all elements of his coursework. Thomas has studied various units including Personal and Business Finance, Developing a Marketing Campaign, The Business Environment and Recruitment and Selection in Business. He is always willing to share his ideas with the rest of the group and takes feedback very well to improve his work. Thomas has made consistent progress over the last two years, and we are sure he will excel at Higher Education.

 

The school would not hesitate to recommend Thomas as a member of any institution. He is motivated, personable and enjoys a challenge. He fully embraces opportunity when presented with it. Undoubtedly, he is a versatile and gifted tech mind; any member of an audience for the productions he has led on and those who have worked alongside him would testify to this. We are utterly certain that Thomas will add value and prove an asset to any Higher Education institution lucky enough to have him. We are excited to see his future takes him.
